4Warn Weather Alert: Wet and Stormy Wednesday
Expect a few early morning scattered showers moving to the northeast that will be more inconvenient than anything. The severe weather threat arrives this afternoon. Otherwise, mostly cloudy and mild as we wake up in the 50s.
SUNRISE: 6:49 AM
In the wake of a warm front, temperatures will rise close to 70 degrees midday, but expect thunderstorms to develop along a cold front this afternoon. Strong to severe storms will be possible.
THE TIMELINE: A broken line of thunderstorms develops along a cold front and moves eastward across our region around 40 mph from 2-7pm.
THE THREATS: There is a slight risk for severe storms along and south of I-69 and a marginal risk into the Thumb. Damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph are the main threat, but large hail, minor flooding and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
SUNSET: 8:18 PM
Partly sunny Thursday with additional showers late Thursday night into Friday morning as another cold front passes. This front will bring highs near 60 degrees Friday and only in the 50s through the weekend with a mix of sun and clouds. Looking at a seasonal start to the next workweek. For those planning to do outdoor volunteering on Earth Day, mostly sunny skies and low 60s are forecasted for Monday. Staying in the 60s for the NFL Draft downtown late next week.
