More hot, humid weather with chances of storms
TONIGHT:
Under partly cloudy skies, lows will be in the lower 60s.
TOMORROW (MONDAY):
It will be hot and humid. An unstable atmosphere will lead to the chance of a few showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. A couple of these storms could become strong to severe with the potential of heavy rain, gusty winds, and hail. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy as temperatures soar to near-record territory. Highs will be in the upper 80s to 90 degrees. Metro Detroit’s record high for May 20 is 91 degrees.
TOMORROW NIGHT:
A few showers will be possible as lows fall to the mid 60s.
TUESDAY:
It will be hot again with a better chance of showers and thunderstorms. As temperatures rise into the mid to upper 80s, showers and thunderstorms will begin to develop in the afternoon and evening. The strongest of these storms could pack damaging winds and hail. Localized street flood flooding may be possible. Nighttime temperatures will offer little relief as lows only fall to around 70 degrees.
WEDNESDAY:
We will have a mix of sun and clouds with the chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the lower to mid 80s. Lows will fall to the mid to upper 50s.
